Last Saturday night, we treated ourselves to Castagna, which had a lot of great reviews. I was excited that there were many vegetarian, gluten free options. We were both happily surprised and disappointed. Most of the plant dishes were a hit but we did notice they roasted/grilled (aka burned) the crap out of the plants. The tomatoes and peaches were particularly enjoyable. However, the pizza was one of the worst pizzas I’ve ever had. It was like bad Chinese food–dry, oily, bland, burned.
House pickles. Those garlic plants were starchy and good!!
Roasted eggplant with mint. I probably could have eaten two of these atl by myself.
Cardoons with parsley. Refreshing.
Zucchini pizza. Carbs on carbs.
Grilled peaches with feta and herbs. One of my favorite plates here.
Green tomatoes!! Delicious, this one!
